About Club 29
Could learning to become a good speaker and a competent chairman be fun? Yes it can be, especially if you do it at the meetings of Albury Rostrum Club. In November 2022, our club celebrated 60 years of continuous service to the people of Albury.
We offer a supportive, friendly environment for those who want to develop their personal skills. We have accredited trainers to point out how members can improve. It is a ‘learn by doing’ situation and it has proven to be very effective.
If you need to:
- Speak before groups
- Overcome nerves
- Make business presentations
- Argue a case effectively
- Become a competent chairman
then Rostrum can help you. You will not only be developing useful skills, but you will enjoy the good humour of the meetings, learn many things from the speeches given, and make new friends.
Visitors are always welcome (because we can’t practise public speaking without a ‘public’). There is no requirement to speak, just observe and see if Rostrum is for you.
Similarly, there is no need to indicate that you will attend, but if you want to have a chat with our secretary, feel free to email Bruce Key at Club 29. If you wish, Bruce can put you on the email list to receive the agenda for each meeting.
Don’t procrastinate, do something now!
